Ten Transformative Affirmations for Scapegoat Recovery

Welcome to all of our new subscribers!

We’re glad you’re here. Be sure to check out all the offerings available in this website’s menu and sub-menu for support in understanding and recovering from family scapegoating abuse (FSA), including articles and resources I’ve put together over the past few years.

Announcing New YouTube Health Partnership

I’m excited to share that I have been accepted into YouTube’s Health Partner Program. In this new program, YouTube “partners with public health and clinical experts from all over the world to provide equitable access to the best and brightest thinking in medicine and public health.”

This acknowledgement of my clinical expertise within the field of Family Systems will further help to legitimatize and validate the psycho-emotional distress Adult Survivors of family scapegoating abuse (FSA) experience, including complex trauma symptoms. You can learn more about YouTube’s Health Partner Program here: https://www.apha.org/news-and-media/news-releases/apha-news-releases/2021/youtube-announces-partnership

Ten New Transformative Affirmations for FSA Recovery

My first volume of Affirmations for Scapegoat Recovery proved to be both popular and helpful, and I’ve had many requests from subscribers asking me to do a follow-up volume.

You can now access my second volume of Affirmations for Scapegoat Recovery. I’d love to hear from you in the comments here (or on YouTube) if you found this second set of affirmations equally helpful. You can also share these transformative affirmations with others who might benefit from this type of FSA Recovery support. These affirmations are trauma-informed and there are specific benefits to saying them out loud versus having them read to you in a voice-over. Please be aware that all of my videos on FSA Recovery, including Affirmations, carry the following Trigger warning:

TRIGGER WARNING: If you feel emotionally activated watching this affirmations video, turn it off and perhaps return to it at another time or consult a licensed Mental Health professional.

  1. I just watched volume 2. They are powerful. I remember jumping on my bed at age four, saying “I’m a person! I’m a person!” when I realized I was an individual and felt so awesome. Then I was told to stop by my power holder..mother…but not just the jumping. The being a person was squashed, too. Working my way back (but probably won’t jump on my bed). Thanks so much for helping us become stronger. <3

  2. These are beautiful and guiding us to be so gentle with ourselves. I appreciate the idea of being an unknowing recepticle, not having given permission for the toxic dump. I will envision myself as having secured a lid now and punched a few small holes in the bottom to slowly leak out what’s been dumped in over the years.

  3. Hi Rebecca, Thank you for this post. I have typed the affirmations into a file and printed a copy to be posted where I will see it every day. There is great bravery and healing in these words.

  4. I appreciate this more than you know. However, can you alternate so that some of the posts do not have to link to a video? I am not in an environment that I can really watch a video but rather read what you are saying, and would gladly pay a fee for this as well. Thanks!
